Orthodontics for Children

Dr. Reid and our team at Calera Orthodontics will treat your children like our own by giving them the best possible orthodontic care.

The American Association of Orthodontists and Dr. Reid recommend that your child get their first orthodontic evaluation at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age seven.

Your child's teeth have developed enough by this age to allow Dr. Reid to detect subtle problems with emerging teeth and jaw growth before your child loses all of his/her baby teeth.

Your child's check-up at Calera Orthodontics may reveal that his or her bite is fine, and does not require treatment at this time.

Or, Dr. Reid may identify a developing problem but recommend monitoring your child's growth and development until the time is right to start treatment at our Calera office.

Early treatment with Dr. Reid may prevent or intercept more serious problems from developing and may make later treatment shorter and less complicated.

In some cases, Dr. Reid can achieve results that may not be possible once your child's face and jaws are fully developed.

Orthodontics for Teens

For teens, the most common time for orthodontic treatment is between 11-14. Experienced orthodontists like Dr. Reid can easily recognize spacing, crowding, bite, and alignment issues in this age range.

During adolescence, your teen's bone and jaw structure are formed enough to support orthodontic treatment and get the best results.

At Calera Orthodontics, your teen can choose between Invisalign clear aligners, clear braces, metal braces, or gold braces. Each of these choices offers unique benefits while transforming your teen's smile.

Orthodontics for Adults

Your smile is the first thing other people around Calera notice about you. Do you love yours? It is never too late to improve your smile!

Believe it or not, your teeth don't stop moving after the teen years, and teeth that seemed straight and aligned in youth can shift later in life. Misaligned teeth, if left untreated, can lead to abnormal wear or chipping of the teeth, jaw pain, tooth decay, gum disease, and an overall unhappy smile.

You're never too old to benefit from orthodontic treatment with Dr. Reid, and that's why we offer orthodontics for adults at Calera.

Dr. Reid can address these issues and more through orthodontic treatment, giving you the healthy smile you've always dreamed about.

We use orthodontic forces to move teeth the same way for adults and children, and you'll notice the benefits of your treatment in no time.

Why Should You Think About Orthodontic Treatment?

Straight Teeth Can Be Healthier Teeth

After Dr. Reid aligns your teeth correctly, it can be easier for you to clean them through regular flossing and brushing to prevent other oral issues, including some problems that can affect your overall health.
