Our Invisalign Process at
Calera Orthodontics
At Calera Orthodontics, we can use Invisalign to give you a stunning smile with minimal impact on you appearance and lifestyle. Dr. Reid designs every treatment plan specifically for you and your orthodontic needs by creating a series of clear, custom-fit aligners.
Come to our office in Calera for a simple and time-efficient treatment process.
1. Come in for Your Smile Consultation
- At your first free consultation, Dr. Reid will assess the current state of your teeth and listen to your smile goals.
- Our highly-trained team members will scan your teeth in a matter of minutes to create a set of virtual models of your teeth.
- If Dr. Reid determines that Invisalign’s clear, removable aligners are right for your smile, we’ll discuss the financial options and treatment plans that best fit your budget.
2. Make a Plan
- We’ll take digital images and X-rays of your teeth to create your treatment plan before using a computerized program to design your personalized aligners.
- Dr. Reid precisely designs each set of Invisalign aligners that will shift your teeth in stages. You can even see a digital projection of your final results before you start treatment.
3. Wear Your Almost-Invisible Braces
- We recommend wearing your aligners 20-22 hours daily, removing them only to eat, brush, and floss.
- You'll come into Calera Orthodontics for checkups every eight to twelve weeks to get your new sets of aligners so Dr. Reid can check your progress. These checkups are generally quick and painless because you won't have any wires to check or tighten.
A Modern Approach
Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth. It uses a custom-made series of aligners created specifically for your smile. These aligners are made of smooth, comfortable, and nearly-invisible plastic that fits snugly over your teeth.
Wearing the aligners will gently move your teeth into place little by little, based on the exact movements Dr. Reid plans for you.
There are no metal wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners every week until your treatment is complete.
Invisalign has vastly improved over the years and can be used to handle various simple and complex cases. From crowding to spacing, underbite to overbite, Dr. Reid can use Invisalign to help you achieve your ideal smile.
Ideal for Teens
Dr. Reid thinks teens should participate in their favorite activities while getting efficient orthodontic treatment for crowded teeth, uneven spacing, and bite issues.
At Calera Orthodontics, we want our teen patients to be excited about starting their journey toward straighter teeth, and Invisalign helps us do that.
Whether you’re a musician, an athlete, an artist, a class president, or anything else, you’ll be able to straighten your smile without the barrier that traditional braces might present.
Since Invisalign aligners are made of clear plastic and are almost invisible, your friends probably won’t even know you’re wearing them.
Invisalign helps you focus on doing what you do best—being yourself.
At your first free consultation with Calera Orthodontics, you’ll learn how Invisalign can be a good fit for your smile and lifestyle!

Using Invisalign for Kids in
Phase 1 Treatment
As your child grows up, their smile grows with them, and Dr. Reid gives them personalized care to enjoy a healthy smile for life.
Sometimes early treatment is necessary in children as early as 6-10 years of age. This is known as Phase I Treatment. At this stage, orthodontists like Dr. Reid can detect issues that may require early intervention to prevent more severe problems from developing later in life.
At Calera Orthodontics, we offer a variety of treatment solutions to help meet your child's unique needs.
Benefits of Invisalign First
A Simple Start
Invisalign First treatment at Calera Orthodontics starts with a simple digital scan—no goopy impressions mean a more comfortable experience for your child.
From there, Dr. Reid will digitally map every step of your child’s plan, so you know what to expect throughout the process.
Made for All Sorts of Smiles
Invisalign First clear aligners can fix many issues, including crowding, spacing, and narrow dental arches.
A Happier Experience
With removable aligners, there’s not much interruption to your child’s life—they can continue to eat foods and enjoy the activities they love.
Plus, the aligners are specifically designed to fit smaller teeth and include space to accommodate teeth that are growing in.
Keep Your Hygiene Routine
Growing children can continue to brush and floss without the hassle and keep their good hygiene habits on track.
Difference Between Braces & Invisalign
When it comes to Invisalign treatment, there's a lot to consider—most Invisalign patients at Calera Orthodontics have shorter checkups, easier oral hygiene, and fewer emergency visits.
However, the system's biggest pro can also be a con—the fact that the aligners are removable. Your cooperation is essential, whether you have braces or Invisalign.
Since braces are attached to your teeth, they do the heavy lifting to keep your treatment progressing.
With Invisalign, you need to do extra work during your treatment so your aligners can complete the necessary movements.
You'll need to manage your wear time, keep your aligners clean, and swap them out for the next aligner in the series. You need to be sure that you can do this before committing to Invisalign treatment.
Like traditional metal braces, Dr. Reid recommends wearing a retainer after your Invisalign treatment to maintain your new alignment and confident new smile.
